Ingredients to make Pakistani Garlicky red lentil spinach soup

  • Any spinach that cooks quickly ( washed and chopped ) 2 cups
  • garlic pods 7 finely chopped
  • ginger flakes 1 teaspoon
  • shallots 3 finely chopped / grated .
  • Red lentil cooked 1 cup
  • Red lentil stock 3 large glasses
  • salt as required
  • green chillies 2
  • cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • butter 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala a pinch .

How to make Pakistani Garlicky red lentil spinach soup

  1. In a sauce pan , melt butter.
  2. Add chopped garlic , ginger flakes and sauté for a minute .
  3. Add chopped shallots . Sauté for 2 minutes .
  4. Add cumin powder .
  5. Add salt .
  6. Add the cooked mashed dal along with lentil stock .
  7. Add spinach and cover the pan for 5 minutes .
  8. Add a pinch of Garam Masala .
  9. Let the lentil spinach soup boil for a minute .
  10. Switch off the flame .
  11. Serve warm .
