Shakshuka Fish Fillet curry

Ingredients to make Shakshuka Fish Fillet curry

  • 400 -450 g Fish Fillet in bite sized pieces
  • 1 tsp Sumac powder
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 big tomatoes chopped
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground corriander
  • 3/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 jalapenos chopped (adjust)
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp dill
  • 1/3 cup water
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves

How to make Shakshuka Fish Fillet curry

  1. Mix salt with dry spices ( pepper, turmeric, sumac, dill, cumin and corriander ) well Keep it aside
  2. Using half of above mixture, marinate fish fillet for 30 minutes
  3. In a pan, heat olive oil, add garlic, jalapenos and saute until fragrant. Add chopped onion and saute until translucent
  4. Add remaining spice mixture and mix well. Add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste and saute until tomatoes are tender
  5. Add water, lemon juice and bring to boil. Add fish fillet and gently mix. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until done. Add corriander and mint leaves. Mix well. Garnish with fresh corriander and mint leaves. Serve hot with rice
