ABOUT Fish Curry RECIPE

Fish Curry, a spicy dish made with fish to be served with some hot rice on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fish -1/2 kg
  2. onion -1 big chopped
  3. Tomato -2
  4. green chili-2
  5. curry leaves-1 string
  6. Cumin seeds-1 tablespoon
  7. fenugreek seeds-1/2 tablespoon
  8. garlic -1
  9. coconut milk-1/2 cup
  10. turmeric powder -1/2 tablespoon
  11. red chili powder- 2 tablespoon
  12. coriander powder-3 tablespoon
  13. cumin powder-1/2 tablespoon
  14. fish masala-1 tablespoon
  15. sesame oil - 4 tablespoon
  16. tamarind - required amount (1 lemon size)
  17. Salt - as per taste

Instructions

  1. First clean and wash the fish slices and add turmeric powder rub all over the fish then wash with water..
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, garlic , curry leaves and sauté them for a minute.
  3. Add chopped onion and some salt and sauté them until cooked.
  4. once onion cooked well add the tomato purée and green chili mix them well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Now add all the spices powder and mix them well with onion and tomato.
  6. once masala cooked and the spices start to release oil .
  7. Now squeeze the soaked tamarind well to release all th pulp from it. strain the tamarind juice .
  8. Add the tamarind juice in to the onion and tomato mixture.
  9. Bring to a boil in a medium heat. once it’s boil add the coconut milk and bring to boil.
  10. Now add the fish slices and cook in medium flame for 10-15 minutes.
  11. simmer and cook until oil to appear on top of the gravy.
  12. Do not stirring , avoid breaking the pieces of fish.
  13. Now the fish Curry is ready.. add some coriander leaves on top of the gravy.
  14. Serve the fish curry with white rice or roti.
