ABOUT Aaate Di Pinni RECIPE

I have learnt this recipe from my late aunt who learnt it from her grand mother. Special Indeed!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup coarsely ground whole wheat flour
  2. 1/2 cup besan
  3. 1/2 cup almond meal
  4. 1/2 cup of dry roasted desiccated coconut
  5. 2-3 tbsp of ghee
  6. 2 tsp cardamom powder
  7. 3 tsp of sonth powder ( dried ginger )
  8. 2 tbsp of powdered sugar
  9. 1 cup chopped assorted nuts

Instructions

  1. In a kadhai add 1/2 tbsp of ghee and roast the nuts till they turn golden and keep aside.
  2. Now add the remaining ghee in the kadhai and add whole wheat flour, besan, sonth and cardamom powder. Roast this mixture while stirring continously till light golden.
  3. Add the almond meal and keep stirring for next 5-7 minutes. Take it out in a plate immediately and mix powdered sugar and roasted nuts.
  4. Make small balls while the mixture is still warm. Store in a dry sanitised container.
