This dokli is usually of gujrathis ...but here ..in hyd ..we make it with five lentils n doklis of different shapes so that while serving...all ..espicially kids search for their favourite shapes n have it

Daal dokli

Ingredients to make Daal dokli

  • urad dal one spn
  • moong dal one spn
  • chana daal one spn
  • Toor daal one spn
  • Red masoor dal one spn
  • ginger garlic chilli paste
  • Multigrain flour
  • turmeric half spn
  • Red chilli powder one spn
  • salt
  • coriander
  • oil
  • Rai
  • jeera

How to make Daal dokli

  1. First..Take a vessel..Add two cups of multigrain flour,little salt,carom seeds,one tsp oil... Crumble it properly...N add water slowly ..Form a dough..Cover n keep aside.
  2. Soak all daal in water for ten min
  3. Now take a pan... heat Two spoons oil.add rai, jeera.
  4. Add one spoon of chilli ginger garlic paste..Roast for two min
  5. Add turmeric,red chilli powder,garam masala...Finally add soaked dal n Roast for one min
  6. Add half litre water n let it Boil till daal becomes tender
  7. Now take the dough...roll in thin chapatis n cut in diagonal shapes...N keep aside
  8. Take another roll of dough n form shapes...Like small bowls,stars,moon,face,hair knots,plates etc..
  9. Transfer all the shapes of dough n diagonal cuttings of chapatis into boiling pan n cook for twenty min....
  10. Ready to serve....

My Tip:

U can use simple toordal also...
