Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Arhar daal - 1/2 cup
  2. Wheat flour - 1/2 cup
  3. Gram flour - 2 tbsp
  4. Ghee - 2-3 tbsp
  5. Hing - 1 pinch
  6. Cumin - 1/2tsp
  7. Red chili powder - 1/4tsp
  8. Turmeric Powder - 1/4tsp
  9. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Dried whole red chili - 1
  12. Carom seeds - 1/2tsp
  13. Green chili - 1

Instructions

  1. Wash the daal and soak it for an hour before cooking.
  2. Pressure cook it by adding salt and water in it till whistle and 2-3minutes.
  3. In a plate add wheat flour gram flour, 1/4 tsp salt, 1tsp ghee, carom seeds and make dough like we do for making roti. Keep it cover for 10 -15 minutes. Apply little ghee on palm and smooth the dough using hands.
  4. Make a round ball of the dough and prepare a large size roti then cut it into 1 inch strips.
  5. To cook: Boil water, put dhokli and cook on high flame for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Prepare the tempering by adding oil, cumin seeds, red chili powder and salt.
  7. Put the lentils and cooked dhokli in the cooker and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
  8. Spoon dhokli in a bowl and add the tempering to it. Serve hot.
