About SHEER KHURMA Recipe

This is a delicious recipe of a hyderabadi sweet dish made with thin vermicelli.

SHEER KHURMA

Ingredients to make SHEER KHURMA

  • Milk - 1 liter
  • Vermicelli -100 gms
  • sugar -1/2 cup
  • Whole dried milk / mawa - 1/4 cup
  • Whole dry dates - 5
  • Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
  • Roughly chopped cashew nuts - 1 tbsp
  • Roughly chopped almonds - 1 tbsp
  • raisins - 1 tbsp
  • Crushed pistachios - 1 tbsp
  • chironji - 1 tbsp
  • saffron - few strands
  • cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • clarified butter - 2 tbsp

How to make SHEER KHURMA

  1. Heat clarified butter / ghee in a pan
  2. Add vermicelli and stir fry till light brown.
  3. Boil milk in a thick bottom vessel.
  4. Once boiled, keep it in a low flame.
  5. Stir in between thickening the milk.
  6. Add fried vermicelli in it.
  7. Cook well till it gets thick.
  8. Add dates and dry fruits in it.
  9. Add sugar and whole dried milk / mawa and mix well.
  10. Add cardamom powder and grated coconut.
  11. The consistency is not so thick nor liquid.
  12. Garnish with saffron and almonds.
