Ingredients to make Country Chicken / Nattu Kozhi Varuval

  • Country chicken / Nattu Kozhi -1 kg (cleaned&chopped)
  • shallots -3/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • tomato -1 big(finely chopped)
  • red chilli powder - 2 tbsp
  • salt -To taste
  • turmeric powder -1 tsp
  • oil -2 tbsp
  • To Temper
  • bay leaf -2
  • cloves -3
  • fennel seeds -1 tsp
  • curry leaves -2 sprig
  • Dry red chilli -3

How to make Country Chicken / Nattu Kozhi Varuval

  1. In a pressure cooker add the chicken pieces,turmeric powder and 3 cups water.Cook it for 8 whistle.
  2. In a pan add the oil temper with the ingredients given under"TO TEMPER" ,add the shallots.fry it until its transculent.Then add the chopped tomato until it turns mashy.
  3. Now add the red chilli powder ,salt, cooked chicken along with water.once the gravy become thick ,turn into low flame.roast it until it turns golden brown.

My Tip:

Try to add more red chilli powder according to your preference.then only it gives rich taste.
