Moong Dal Kheer

Ingredients to make Moong Dal Kheer

  • 1 cup Yellow moong dal
  • 1 and half cup jaggery
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp cashews, and Raisins
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • A pinch of Elachi

How to make Moong Dal Kheer

  1. Dry roast the yellow moong Dal until nice aroma comes.. Do not darken the Dal.
  2. Take a pressure cooker, add the Dal and 2 cups water and cook until 5 whistles are released out.
  3. Now, once the steam goes off, add the grated jaggery and keep stirring to avoid any lumps.
  4. When the mixture begins to thicken, add warm milk and stir further for another 5 minutes and switch off.
  5. Heat up the ghee, add the cashews and raisins.
  6. Add the flavored ghee portion into the mixture, followed by adding the elachi powder.
  7. The kheer is ready to serve.

My Tip:

Can serve hot or cold.
