Punjabi Sweet Dish

Phirni

Ingredients to make Phirni

  • rice 30g
  • pistachios 4-5
  • almonds 4-5
  • cardamom powder half teaspoon
  • sugar 150g
  • Milk 1liter

How to make Phirni

  1. Seep rice in water for half an hour. Then powder it finely.
  2. Heat milk. Add rice powder to milk while boiling. Stir till thick.
  3. Add sugar. Keep stirring.
  4. Take off flame.
  5. Grease insides of mud kullhar / bowl with desi ghee.
  6. Pour phirni in the bowls to set.
  7. Garnish on top with cardamom powder, cut pistachios and almonds, saffron strands, etc.
  8. Put in fridge for an hour to set. Serve cold.
