About Mughalai Darbari Gosht Recipe

Mughalai Darbari Gosht is a North Indian Mughali mutton recipe.

Mughalai Darbari Gosht

Ingredients to make Mughalai Darbari Gosht

  • 1/2 kg mutton mix
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tomato blanched and grind
  • 8 to 10 black pepper corn
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 to 4 cloves
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 12 cashew nuts
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds
  • 2 Kashmiri red chilli
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/4 cup oil for cooking
  • For Tempting, 1 tbsp pure ghee
  • 10 to 12 thin ginger slice
  • Few crushed cashew
  • For Garnish, 1 tbsp fried brown onion
  • 1 tbsp Crushed cashew
  • 1 tbsp chopped corriender

How to make Mughalai Darbari Gosht

  1. Roast cashew nuts,black Pepper, cinnamon, cloves,black cardamom seeds, kashmiri red chilli,sesame,poppy and mustard seeds,bay leaves untill fragrant
  2. Let them rest to cool
  3. Transfer in mixer jar add little water,grind and make thick paste of it
  4. Heat oil in a pan add sliced onion,fry till brown in colour
  5. Now add mutton and mix well till change the mutton colour
  6. Now add ginger and garlic paste and mix for 2 to 3 minutes
  7. Add tomato paste and stir again
  8. Now add salt, turmeric and chilli powder and again cook for 4 to 5 minutes
  9. Add 1/2 cup water gradually and stir in between cover and cook untill mutton is tender
  10. Now add grind cashew and spices paste and mix
  11. Add water (required consistency of shorba) and mix
  12. Now cover and cook on low flame for 10 to 12 minutes
  13. For Tempting, heat pure ghee in a pan add sliced ginger and Crushed cashew
  14. Now pour this hot tempting in mutton pan and cover it
  15. Now Mughalai Darbari gosht is ready to serve
  16. Garnish with some brown onion,crushed cashew and with chopped corriender
  17. Serve hot with chappati and rice. Now Mughalai Darbari Gosht is ready to serve
