About Dhakai mutton Recipe

This dish is spicy and from bengal.

Dhakai mutton

Ingredients to make Dhakai mutton

  • 1 kg mutton
  • 200gm curd
  • 5 - 6 chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup khaskhas paste
  • 1/2 cup chalmagaj paste
  • 1/4 cup mustard paste
  • 1 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder ( cinnamon, clove, cardamom)
  • 1 tsp roasted coriander powder
  • 1 tbspTurmeric powder
  • 3 red chilly
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • salt
  • sugar
  • oil

How to make Dhakai mutton

  1. Pressure cook the mutton and take out from the juice. Mutton should be per boil.
  2. Mix roasted coriander powder, half of the ginger garlic paste with the curd and mix well. Add boiled mutton and keep for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil ,add bay leaves, red chilly and cumin . Add chopped onion after masala splatter, fry till translucent and brown.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste, saute for 2mins and marinated mutton, add turmeric powder ,red chilly powder and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Now add all the pastes and mix properly, salt to be added. Add hot Water after oil separated from the side . Add sugar and garam masala powder.
  6. Dish is ready to serve.
