ABOUT Aam-shol (Snake head murrel fish with green mango) RECIPE

Aam-shol is very old and traditional bengali delicacy. The chemistry of the tangy taste of green mango and that of the spiciness of fish will definitely strike the right chord.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chopped green mango - 3 tbsp
  2. Boiled and boneless fish - 1 piece
  3. Turmeric Powder - a pinch
  4. Panchforon (Indian five spice) paste - 1 tbsp
  5. Dry red chilli - 1 piece
  6. Sugar - A pinch
  7. Salt - As required
  8. Mustard oil - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Boil the green mango cubes in water and drain the excess water.
  2. Mash it and keep aside with other ingredients.
  3. Heat oil in a iron kadai.
  4. Add dry red chilli for seasoning.
  5. Add panchforon paste, turmeric powder, salt and fish.
  6. Add mashed green mango, sugar and sprinkle of water.
  7. When gravy becomes thick, turn the gas off.
