Baghara Beet Raita

Ingredients to make Baghara Beet Raita

  • 800gm dahi
  • 2-3 tbsp boiled and grated beetroot
  • 1/2 tsp bhuna jeera
  • 1/4tsp garam masala
  • 2pinches suger
  • salt to teste
  • 2-3green chillies(deseeded and chopped finely)
  • 2tbsp roasted peanuts- crush a little
  • 2tbsp oil
  • 1tsp moong dal
  • 1tsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2tsp jeera
  • 1/2tsp sarson
  • 2-3dry red chillies
  • A few curry leaves
  • Fried curry leaves

How to make Baghara Beet Raita

  1. Wash beetroot and put in a polybag.microwave for 4 minutes.peel and grate.
  2. Beat curd till smooth.add all other ingredients.add just enough beet to get a pretty pink colour.the colour darkens or keeping.check teste.keep aside in the serving bowl
  3. For the baghar,heat 2tbsp oil.remove from fire.add 1tsp moong dhuli dal.let it turn golden.add seame seeds.return to fire.
  4. Add jeera and sarson.splutter for 1 minutes.remove from fire.add red chillies and curry leaves.stir for a few seconds.pour on the prepared dahi.
  5. Deep fry curry leaves in some oil and top raita with these.
