Amrood ki Sabji

Ingredients to make Amrood ki Sabji

  • guava - 500 gms. (hard and raw) chopped and deseeded
  • tomato - 2-3
  • Green chilli - 1-2
  • ginger - 1 inch long piece.
  • Fresh curd - 1/4 cup.
  • Heeng - 1 pinch.
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli - 2 whole
  • cloves - 2
  • cinnamon - 1 piece.
  • cardamom - 1
  • Deggi mirch powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - as per taste
  • Sugar or jaggery - 1 tea spoon
  • coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)

How to make Amrood ki Sabji

  1. Grind the whole spices
  2. Grind the tomato, green chilli and ginger in a grinder, adding curd to it.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and put cumin seeds to it. Once the cumin seeds turn brown in colour add ground masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder and roast them for a while.
  4. Put tomato-curd paste to it and roast the masala for 2-3 minutes. Add chopped guava, red chilli powder, sugar and salt into the masala. Stir and roast the masala for 1 minute. Now cover the pan and cook it for another 2-3 minutes until the guava becomes tender.
  5. Pour little water into the pan as per the requirement(or 1/2 cup water) and let it boil. Once the water starts to boil cook the recipe for another 2-3 minutes on medium flame and turn off the flame.
  6. Guava Curry is ready. Garnish it with Coriander leaves.

My Tip:

Don't use the ripe guava.
