Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potato – 3 large 
  2. Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tblspn
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
  4. Crushed Black Pepper – 1 tblspn or to taste
  5. Oil – 5 tblspn
  6. Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
  7. Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
  8. Curry leaves – 1 spring
  9. Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard, cumin and curry leaves and let them sizzle for a min.
  2. Add in ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and saute for a couple of minutes.
  3. Now add in the chopped potatoes and toss well with the spices.
  4. Add salt and mix them well.
  5. Cook on a low heat till they turn golden, this will take a good 15 to 20 mins.
  6. Now add in crushed pepper and toss well.
  7. Serve with rice and rasam/curd for best taste
