About Daal tadka Recipe

Very basic and nutritional food goes well with fulkas as well as rice.

Daal tadka

Ingredients to make Daal tadka

  • Tuvar/ arhar daal 1 cup
  • onion finely chopped 1 medium size
  • tomatoes 2 medium size
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 2-3 garlic
  • ginger 1tsp
  • curry leaves
  • Turmeric powder,red chilli powder, coriander powder
  • salt
  • Dried red chilli and curry leaves for garnish

How to make Daal tadka

  1. Take 1 cup tuvar daal.
  2. Pressure cook ( upto 3 whistle) daal by adding 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and salt.
  3. TAKE 1 MEDIUM SIZE ONION, GREEN CHILLIES, GARLIC,GINGER, TOMATOES AND CURRY LEAVES
  4. FINELY CHOP THEM.
  5. TAKE 2-3 TBSP OIL AND FRY IT WITH THE CHOPPED INGREDIENTS INCLUDING CUMIN SEEDS,CURRY LEAVES FIRST.
  6. FRY AND TURMERIC POWDER,RED CHILLI POWDER, CORIANDER POWDER AND SALT.
  7. POUR THE PRESSURE COOKED DAAL KEEPING THE FLAME LOW.
  8. GARNISH WITH DRY RED CHILLI AND CURRY LEAVES.
