Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. chicken 1 kg
  2. curd 100 gms
  3. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  4. salt as per taste
  5. Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  6. tomatoes 4
  7. onions 3
  8. garlic paste 1 tbsp
  9. cashew nuts 25
  10. Fresh cream 5 tbsp
  11. coriander leaves 4-5 tbsp
  12. Garam masala 1 tsp
  13. Roaste Kasturi methi 1 tbsp
  14. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  15. butter 50 gms
  16. Green cardamom 4
  17. tomato sauce 1 tbsp
  18. oil


  1. Mix chicken, curd, red chilli powder, salt and ginger garlic paste into a bowl. Marinate for 30 mins.
  2. Heat a pan. Add oil and half butter and chopped onions.
  3. After onions become soft, add chopped tomatoes, cashew nuts, garlic paste, salt and red chilli powder and keep it on medium flame for 3 to 4 mins.
  4. Add little water and half coriander leaves. Cover and cook for 5 mins.
  5. Turn off the flame and let it cool.
  6. In another pan, add oil and fry the marinated chicken.
  7. Meanwhile, blend the onion, tomato mixture into a blender and make a fine paste.
  8. Transfer tomato, onion paste into the pan. Add fried chicken and mix well.
  9. Add garam masala, roasted kasturi methi , tomato ketchup, cream and remaining butter and mix well.
  10. Add 100 ml water, bring it to a boil. Cover and cook for 10 mins on low flame.
  11. Turn off the flame and garnish it with green coriander leaves.
  12. Your butter chicken is deliciously ready to be served with roti, naan or rice.
