It is the most popular food of bengal.It is eat with rice. It is my on of the favourit recipe of my mom's recipes.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Fish-4pieces
  2. Potato-1 big size
  3. Onion-1big size
  4. ginger-garlic paste-1tbsp
  5. tomato-1
  6. Oil-1/2 cup
  7. Red chilli -1
  8. bay leaf-1
  9. Black cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder-1 1/2tsp
  11. Red chilli powder-1 1/2tsp
  12. cumin powder-1tsp
  13. coriander powder-1tsp
  14. garam masala powder-1tsp
  15. Salt-As per taste
  16. Curd-1tbsp
  17. Coriander leaves-1-2tbsp

Instructions

  1. Peel the potato and cut into long pieces and wash it with water
  2. Take pieces of fish in a plate and add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste for it marination
  3. Take a kadai and add oil, heat it and put the potatoes in the kadai and add salt and turmeric powder
  4. Fry the potatoes until it cook properly
  5. Take it away from the kadai
  6. Add extra oil the same kadai and put the fishes in the kadai and let it fry
  7. When fishes are fry properly take it away from the kadai
  8. Same kadai add red chilli, bay leaf and black cumin seeds
  9. Then add chopped onion and fry it till the colour change into brown
  10. Then add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2-3min or till the raw smell goes away
  11. Next add tomato paste and cook it till the raw smell goes away
  12. Add all spices , turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and cook it very well
  13. Add curd and mix it
  14. Add some water for masala is cook properly
  15. Then add salt as per taste
  16. Then add fried potatoes and mix it with masala
  17. Next add water as need and leave it for boil
  18. Add fried fishes and cook it for 5mins
  19. Last add coriander leaves and serve it with rice
