Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Marination :
  2. Rohu fish pieces - 6
  3. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  4. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Salt
  6. For the Gravy :
  7. Potatoes - 2
  8. Tomatoes (chopped) - 2
  9. Ginger Paste - 1 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Red Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  12. Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  13. Bengali garam masala powder - 1/4 th tsp
  14. Salt
  15. Mustard oil
  16. Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  17. Dry Red chilly - 1

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder, red chilly powder and Salt for 10 minutes.
  2. Deep fry the marinated fish pieces in mustard oil, keep aside.
  3. Now in the same pan, add the dry red chilly followed by the cumin seeds.
  4. Then cut the each potato into 4 pieces and add to the pan. Fry for few minutes and then add the chopped tomatoes.
  5. Cover with a lid and lower the flame. Cook for few minutes.
  6. Then add the ginger paste, powdered spices and salt. Cook until the masala is cooked. Now add water for the gravy.
  7. Once it starts boiling and then add the fried fish pieces. Cook for few minutes and then serve.
