ABOUT Avocado Parathas RECIPE

Avocado is a gift from Mother Nature . The fruit is loaded with several health benefits . Including Avocados in children ‘s diet regularly helps them get the required vitamins and minerals . Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Avocado Large Ripe 1
  2. Whole wheat flour 2 cups
  3. Salt as preferred
  4. Carom seeds 1 teaspoon
  5. Lemon juice 1 to 1.5 teaspoon
  6. Ghee 2 tablespoons + 4 tablespoons
  7. water as required to knead
  8. Rice flour for dusting
  9. Spice powders ( optional )

Instructions

  1. Take 1 large ripe avocado . Cut into halves . Discard the seed. Scoop the flesh and add in a bowl.
  2. Add 2 cups whole wheat flour . Add required salt .
  3. Add 1 teaspoon carom seeds .
  4. Squeeze 1 teaspoon lemon juice .
  5. Mix all together . Mash avocado to blend with the flour .
  6. Add required water gradually to knead into a soft dough . Add little water as avocado makes
  7. dough already soft and moist . Add 2 tablespoons ghee .
  8. The dough is ready . Cover and rest for 30 minutes .
  9. After 30 minutes , divide dough into equal medium sized balls .
  10. Take one ball on the rolling board . Dust the board with rice flour . Rice flour enhances taste.
  11. Roll into a thin large paratha .
  12. Heat a iron tawa to smoking point . Reduce the flame . Place the paratha on the hot tawa.
  13. When the paratha bubbles up, flip to another side .
  14. Apply ghee throughout the paratha .
  15. Flip to another side .
  16. Again apply ghee .
  17. Cook till brown spots appear both sides . Similarly cook parathas with the remaining dough .
  18. Avocado Parathas are ready . Brush ghee on the hot parathas . Serve hot with raitas / pickle/ mayo.
  19. Pack these healthy parathas for your child ‘s tiffin . Happy Eating!
