ABOUT Almond & Cashew Barfi RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Almonds - 3/4 cup
  2. Cashew nuts - 1/4 cup
  3. Sugar - 21/4 cups
  4. Milk - 1/2 cup
  5. Water - 1/2 cup
  6. Cardamom - 2
  7. Ghee (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Soak 3/4 cup almonds and 1/4 cup cashews in hot water for 11/2 hours.
  2. Peel off the almond skin.
  3. Add1/2 cup milk and grind into a smooth paste.
  4. Heat 21/2cups of sugar with 1/2 cup of water.
  5. Stir the syrup till one string consistency.
  6. Add 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder.
  7. Add the ground nuts to the sugar syrup.
  8. Cook the mixture for 15 minutes.Remove from flame and pour onto a greased and lined tray.
  9. Spread it evenly and let it cool.
  10. Unmould and cut into squares.Garnish it with almonds and store it in an airtight container.
