ABOUT Bandar Laddus/Thokkudu Laddus RECIPE

Melt in mouth laddus from a place called Bandar also known as Machalipatnam in Andhra. These are made on all auspicious occasions and festivals. They just melt in your mouth and are totally irresistible. Made so very easily, they are the best gift that one can give to their friends and relatives this Diwali. Happy Diwali !!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Gram flour 2 cups
  2. sugar 1 cup
  3. Water 1/2 cup
  4. Ghee 3 tablespoon or as required
  5. Almonds slivered few
  6. Raisins few
  7. Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Water for making a semi thick paste of gram flour 3/4 th cup

Instructions

  1. Add 2 cups of gram flour or besan and 3/4 to 1 cup of water to make a smooth batter
  2. Pour the batter into the chakli mould
  3. Press batter into the oil in a circular motion.
  4. Oil has to be on low heat initially and later on high falme.Fry till golden brown and keep it aside to cool.
  5. Add one cup of sugar in half cup of water and let it boil.Wait till it reaches one string consistency.
  6. Add cardamom powder to it
  7. Remove from heat after it reaches desired consistency.keep it aside and let it cool.
  8. Grind this besan sev into a coarse powder in a mixer.
  9. Add the powdered sev to the sugar syrup.
  10. Mix well and keep it aside
  11. Add nuts to the besan sugar syrup mixture.
  12. Shape the warm mixture into laddus.
  13. Place silvered almonds on the laddus and store in an airtight container.
