Mornings are a busy time, where nutrition sometimes is ignored. These toast are not only healthy but also quick to make. Keep the ingredients ready the previous night and all you need to do the next morning is to assemble and toast!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 100 gms semolina/Sooji
  2. A bowlful of veggies(some like sweet corn could be boiled)
  3. 4 slices of brown bread
  4. A tbspn of coriander leaves chopped fine
  5. A tbspn Grated ginger
  6. salt to taste
  7. 4 tbspn curd
  8. Dry spices like turmeric and red chilli powder
  9. 1 tbspn cumin seeds
  10. 2 tbspn butter/cooking oil
  11. water as needed


  1. Place the semolina in a mixing bowl and add the curd to it and mix well
  2. Add water bit by bit to make a thick mixture, not very runny
  3. Add dry spices, salt and cumin seeds and mix well
  4. Now add the veggies and grated ginger, coriander leaves and mix
  5. Check seasoning and set aside for 5 minutes. Use this time to chop the bread sides
  6. Melt butter in a non stick pan and spread the mix on the bread slices
  7. Place the mixture sides of the bread to roast on the pan first and press gently
  8. Flip and cook both sides till crisp
  9. Serve hot with ketchup or chutney of your choice
