ABOUT Masala Jeera Rice RECIPE

One of my favourite masala jeera rice which are perfect for lunch and dinner table for any party or regular.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Washed and soaked basmati rice 1 cup
  2. Water 3 to 4 glass
  3. Salt 1/4 tsp
  4. For tadka :-
  5. Ghee 1 tbsp
  6. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  7. Dry red chilli 1
  8. Cloves 4
  9. Bay leaf 1
  10. Star anise 1
  11. Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  12. Chopped green garlic 1 tbsp
  13. Green chilli chopped 2
  14. Chopped coriander leaves 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. BOIL 3-4 CUPS WATER IN A COOKER, ADD 1 CUP PRE SOAKED BASMATI RICE
  2. ADD 1/4 TSP SALT, COOK FOR 10-15 MINS ON LOW HEAT
  3. STRAIN THE RICE, SET ASIDE FOR 20-30 MINS
  4. HEAT 1 TBSP GHEE
  5. ADD 1/2 TSP CUMIN SEEDS, 1 DRY RED CHILLI , 1 BAY LEAF, 3-4 CLOVES
  6. ADD 1 STAR ANISE, 1/2 TSP ASAFOETIDA
  7. ADD 1 TBSP CHOPPED SPRING ONION GREENS
  8. ADD 2 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, SAUTE FOR 1 MINUTE, TAKE OFF HEAT
  9. POUR TADKA OVER THE RICE
  10. ADD 1 TBSP CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES, MIX
