ABOUT Tamarind rice RECIPE

This is a tiffin recipe, made with tamarind and cooked rice, very easy to make and very delicious to taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cooked rice - 1 cup
  2. Tamarind 1 lemon size
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Chana dal - 2 tsp
  5. Sesame oil 150 ml
  6. Curry Leaves - 10


  1. Soak the tamarind, turmeric in some hot water.
  2. Heat a pan with some oil, add the curry leaves and the chana dal.
  3. Let these splutter and then add some salt.
  4. Then strain the tamarind and turmeric powder, mix well and then let this boil and reduce.
  5. Once this is reduced, add the cooked rice and mix well. Cook for few more minutes and then serve hot.
