Ingredients to make Sakarai pongal

  • 2 tbsp - cashew , pista, almonds
  • 1 Cup jaggery
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup moong dal
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 Pinch saffron
  • 4 cup water

How to make Sakarai pongal

  1. Heat 1 tbsp ghee , saut the dry fruits and keep aside.
  2. Wash and boil rice and moong dal with 4 cups of water when the rice is almost cooked add milk and cook till rice is mashy. Add sauted nuts and add jaggery and cook till nice pudding consistency add chopped coconut and saffron.
  3. Garnish with dry fruits and serve chilled.

My Tip:

We can add milk maid for more creaminess.
