ABOUT Tandoori chicken gravy RECIPE

Chicken is marinated with spices that gives taste of tandoori chicken, gravy is made with tomato, onion, cashew and some spices, all over it turned out to be very tasty.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For tandoori chicken marination
  2. Chicken 500 gm
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  4. Roasted gram flour 1 tbsp
  5. coriander powder 1tsp
  6. Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp
  7. Red chilly powder 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Black salt 1/2 tsp
  10. Aamchur powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Onion cut into squares 1
  12. Green bell pepper cut into squares 1
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Mustard Oil 1 Tbsp
  15. For gravy
  16. Onion chopped 2 large
  17. Tomato chopped 3 large
  18. Cashew 1/2 cup
  19. Red chilly powder 1 tsp
  20. coriander powder 1 tsp
  21. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  22. Salt to taste
  23. Oil 6 tbsp
  24. Fresh Cream 3/4 Cup


  1. Marinate chicken with all spices, salt, ginger garlic paste, roasted gram flour, square cut bell pepper, Square cut onion,
  2. Keep refrigerated for 30 minutes.
  3. Grind cashew with little water and make fine paste of it.
  4. In a pan heat 2 tbsp of oil, ad chopped onions till light golden, ad chopped ,tomatoes cook till soften.
  5. Ad cashew paste, all spices, salt and cook on high flame.
  6. Let masala cool down, and grind to a fine paste.
  7. Now in same pan heat 2 tbsp oil and shallow fry chicken till done on both sides. .
  8. Now in other pan heat 2 tbsp oil ,ad prepared grinded paste, 1/2 cup water and cook till oil separates.
  9. Now ad in shallow fried chicken ,simmer till 10 minutes.
  10. Switch off the flame. Pour cream on chicken just before serving.

The onion and tomato based gravy is just awesome.
