My Kids love makhana munchies since they have a look like thermacols. My little one call it thermacol milk.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 litre milk
  2. 1 cup makhana
  3. 2 tsp ghee
  4. 1 tbsp sugar
  5. 3-4 saffron strands
  6. 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  7. 1 pinch nutmeg powder
  8. 1 pinch cardamom powder


  1. In a pan take ghee and roast makhanaor lotus seeds till they become crisp.
  2. Boil milk and bring it to half. Add sugar, chopped nuts, saffron, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder.
  3. Add makhana and let it simmer on low flame. When makhana shrink in size remove and chill for an hour.
  4. Garnish with pistachios and serve hot. Best for winters.
