Sweet/Dessert generally made during Ramzan as it is heavy and rich with milk and khoya it helps sustain the energy during fasting

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup thin sevaiyan (roasted)
  2. Ghee 2 table spoons
  3. 1 cup milk
  4. 250 grams doodh pedha
  5. 2-3 spoons sugar (basing on the sweetness of Pedha)
  6. Chopped dry fruits (Almonds, Chironji, Pistachio, Cashwes)
  7. Nutmeg powder (very tiny pinch)
  8. Elaichi powder (1/8th tea spoon)
  9. Kesar/saffron- 1 generous pinch


  1. Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan, roast dry fruits and keep it aside
  2. In the same ghee roast the Sevaiyan, once the sevaiyan is roasted add milk and cook sevaiyan till tender
  3. Add crushed pedha to the cooked ssvaiyan and boil well for couple of minutes
  4. Add kesar/saffron and the roasted nuts and cook under low flame for couple of minutes
  5. Add nutmeg powder and elaichi powder and bring to boil and serve hot or cold, my personal favorite is cold version.
