ABOUT AISH EL SARAYA RECIPE

Middle Eastern Dessert Prepared with bread rusks.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For sugar Syrup-
  2. 1/2cup sugar
  3. 1/2cup water
  4. 1tsp rose essence
  5. 1tsp lemon juice
  6. For Custard -
  7. 1/2 litre milk
  8. 1/2tin condensed milk
  9. 200ml whipping cream
  10. 4tbsp cornflour
  11. 1tsp rose essence
  12. Other ingredients -
  13. Bread rusk - 20 nos(depends upon the size of the container)
  14. Chopped pistachio handful

Instructions

  1. Heat water in a sauce pan.
  2. Add sugar, lemon juice, rose essence and make a thin sugar syrup.
  3. Take a square container, place the bread rusks.
  4. Pour the syrup over the rusks and allow to soak a bit.
  5. Then line another layer of rusks and pour the rest syrup all over the rusks.
  6. Prepare custard, mix cornflour in 1/2cup milk.
  7. Take a heavy bottom pan, mix milk, condensed milk, cream, cornflour mixture well.
  8. Cook on medium heat. Keep steering all the time.
  9. Once it thickens add rose essence. Cool a bit.
  10. Pour over the rusks evenly and sprinkle chopped pistachio.
  11. Refrigerate it for 4/5 hours or overnight.
  12. Slice and serve.
