ABOUT Savaiyon Ka Zarda RECIPE

Eid is incomplete without Savai And this Savaiyon ka Zarda is Main dish in Eid Festival. It has very sweet and flavourful taste.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 250 gms Fine Savai
  2. 200 gms Sugar (Or as per taste)
  3. 2 glass Water (400 ml)
  4. Green Cardamon 4-5
  5. Cloves 2
  6. Almonds 1/4 cup
  7. Chironji 1/4 cup
  8. Melon Seeds 1/4 cup
  9. Dessicated Coconut 1/4 cup
  10. Raisins 1/4 cup
  11. Orange food colour 1/4 tsp
  12. Kewra water 1 tsp
  13. Saffron 8-10 strings (Soakdd in milk)
  14. Ghee / Clarified butter 2-3 tblspn

Instructions

  1. In a pan or kadhahi heat 1 Tsp ghee.
  2. Add Chopped nut and roast for 1 minute.
  3. Take out the roasted nuts.
  4. In same pan heat up 2 tblspn ghee and add Crushed Cardamom and cloves and roast on low flame for 1 minute so that all the flavor and aroma comes to ghee.
  5. Now add savai and roast for 2-3 minutes.
  6. In another pan and Sugar and water and make sticky syrup.
  7. When sugar melt completely and syrup become little sticky switch off the flame and add orange food colour.
  8. Now pour this syrup over the savai and stir continuesly.
  9. Add saffron milk and nut and mix well.
  10. Close the Lid and let it cook for 10 minutes on low Flame.
  11. After 10 minutes you will see all the syrup will be absorbed and savai become fluffy.
  12. Add kewra water and mix well.
  13. Switch off the flame and serve.
  14. Garnish with dryfruits and Mawa and enjoy.
