A traditional sweet of Bengal with lot of patience and hardwork is always a favourite dessert of kids of our home for its crispiness and taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice flour 2 cups
  2. Water as needed
  3. Salt 1 teaspoon
  4. Sugar 1 cup
  5. Oil 1 teaspoon for kneading
  6. Oir for frying


  1. Boil water and add rice flour along with salt.
  2. Mix and stir well to make a thick dough. Rest the dough for 15 minutes.
  3. Knead the dough well to make it soft and smooth with a teaspoon of oil
  4. Roll the dough into some balls and roll each balls on a rolling pin to make a thick flat bread
  5. Cut shapes of your own.
  6. Make designs and patterns using a tooth pick
  7. Make sugar syrup by simply adding sugar to water and boil it for 10 minutes on a low flame
  8. Heat oil in a kadai. Deep fry the pithas till they turn golden brown
  9. Soak the fried pithas in sugar syrup for about 5 minutes.
  10. Take out of the syrup and enjoy the crispy and yummy nokshi pithas with your kids.
