About Bhuna Gosht Recipe

Bhuna Gosht is one of the most popular Indian mutton dishes and its time consuming.However,the results are amazing.So do try it at home.

Bhuna Gosht

Ingredients to make Bhuna Gosht

  • 750 grams mutton on bone,cut in 2 inch pieces
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 8 green cardamoms
  • 10-12 black peppercorns
  • 8 cloves
  • 2 dried red chilli, broken
  • 6 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon green cardamom powder
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes,finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves,finely chopped coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • Finely chopped mint sprig for garnish

How to make Bhuna Gosht

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan,add green cardamom, black peppercorns, cloves and dried red chillies. Saute for a minute. Add onions and saute till brown.
  2. Add mutton pieces and saute till light brown.Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  3. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder,green cardamom powder and salt.Mix well.
  4. Add yogurt and tomatoes. Give a nice stir.
  5. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.
  6. Add chopped coriander,Mix well.
  7. Cover and cook till mutton is tender.
  8. Now add garam masala powder and mix well.
  9. Serve hot garnished with mint spring.

My Tip:

Serve hot.
