Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/4 cup soaked soya granules
  2. 1/4 cup soaked chana dal
  3. 1 cup washed , peeled and chopped lotus stems
  4. 1 tbsp dried mint powder with sesame seeds
  5. 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
  6. 3 tbsp very finely chopped green chilliesand ginger
  7. 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
  8. 1/2 tsp amchur powder
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Some sticks of lotus stem , cut in 3 inches long stick
  11. Water as required to give the shape
  12. Oil for deep frying
  13. Some onion rings for garnishing
  14. Lemon slice for garnishing
  15. Tomato sauce for serving
  16. Green chutney for serving
  17. Some mint leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat a kadai and put together soaked chana dal and soya granules
  2. Sprinkle some water and salt
  3. Cover and cook , until the dal becomes little soft
  4. When done switch off the gas and let it cool down completely
  5. When it cools down then grind them in a mixer grinder
  6. Keep all the ingredients at one place like chana dal soya mixture , chopped green chillies and ginger , mint powder with sesame seeds , garlic paste , salt , amchur , coriander and lotus stem sticks
  7. Chopped lotus stem
  8. In a mixer jar put together chana dal soya mixture , chopped lotus stem , chopped green chillies and ginger
  9. Grind them nicely
  10. Add little water and grind again , into a smooth mixture
  11. Take out the mixture in a mixing bowl
  12. Add garlic paste , amchur powder , mint powder with sesame seeds , salt and chopped coriander
  13. Mix them nicely and make equal sized balls from the mixture
  14. Flatten the ball in your palm
  15. Place the lotus stem stick in the center
  16. Cover it nicely from all the sides with the help of little water and give it a shape of a chop
  17. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying , first on high then make it medium
  18. Slowly slide the ready chop in the hot oil and fry it , by turning it at regular intervals
  19. Until it becomes brown
  20. When done take it out by straining the excess oil
  21. Take it out in an absorbant paper
  22. In this way make all the chops
  23. Arrange them in a serving plate with mint leaves on top
  24. Serve with.onion rings , lemon slice , green chutney and tomato sauce
