Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Kathal / jack fruit - 250 gms
  2. Potatoes - 4 big
  3. Ginger,garlic paste - 1 tsp
  4. Chopped onion - 1
  5. Jeera seeds - a pinch
  6. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Coriander powder - 1 /2 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Amchur powder - a pinch
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - 1/2 cup
  12. Corn flour - 1 tsp
  13. Poppy seeds - 2 tbsp for coating
  14. Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Cut the kathal into pieces. Pressure cook kathal and potatoes with one cup of water.
  2. After one whistle switch off the gas.
  3. Drain water and keep aside.
  4. Mash the kathal seeds and potatoes separately.
  5. Heat oil in a wok, add jeera seeds to crackle.
  6. Add onion and saute for one minute.
  7. Add ginger, garlic paste, and all spices and saute for 4 - 5 mins.
  8. Add kathal, salt and coriander leaves and mix well
  9. Now stuffing is ready.
  10. Add salt and corn flour in mashed potatoes and mix well.
  11. Fill the kathal stuffing in the potatoes dough.
  12. Shape each ball into flat patties of medium thickness.
  13. Coat them in poppy seeds and deep fry in hot oil until golden in color.
  14. Flipping once in between.
  15. Always cook on medium flame.
  16. Drain extra oil on a paper napkin.
  17. Serve hot with sauce.
