ABOUT prawn aloo masala RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  2. 1 bay leaf,2 cardamoms,4 cloves
  3. 3 green chillies slit lengthwise
  4. 1 onion, thinly sliced
  5. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  6. 2 medium tomatoes (diced)
  7. 2 large potatoes
  8. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  9. 1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
  10. 1 teaspoon cumin powder (jeera powder)
  11. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  13. 300 gm prawns
  14. salt as per taste
  15. 1/2 tsp chilli powder

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok or karahi. Add bay leaf, cardamom and cloves. Add diced onions and saute till pink.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste, saute two more minutes Add tomatoes and saute till they lose their shape.
  3. Add the prawns and saute for about three minutes Add the chilli powder, turmeric, salt and green chillies and further saute the mixture for another two minutes.
  4. Finally add the potatoes, add two cups hot water and cook on simmer till the potatoes are soft but retain their shape.
  5. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rice.
