ABOUT Dhaba Dahi Tadka RECIPE

Very simple , curd based curry which comes handy during busy , tiring days . This curry tastes yum with rice / rotis .

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Yogurt 220 ml
  2. Buttermilk 3 tablespoons
  3. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  4. Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoon
  5. Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon
  6. salt as per taste
  7. Oil 2 tablespoons
  8. Onion big 1 finely chopped
  9. Tomato mushy big 1 finely chopped
  10. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  12. Green chillies 2
  13. Kasuri Methi / Dried fenugreek leaves crushed 1 tablespoon
  14. Cilantros finely chopped for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok .
  2. Crackle cumin seeds .
  3. Fry chopped ginger and garlic .
  4. Sauté onions until pink and not till brown .
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and sauté till they turn mushy .
  6. Add salt , turmeric powder and red chilli powder .
  7. Give a stir and cook till masala oozes oil .
  8. Simmer the flame .
  9. Add yogurt
  10. Stir while adding buttermilk to adjust the consistency .
  11. This curry should be thick and shouldn’t be watery .
  12. Once the curry starts boiling , add green chillies .
  13. Sprinkle crushed Kasuri methi .
  14. Add chopped cilantros .
  15. Boil for couple of months till masala and curd binds well .
  16. Switch off .
  17. Dhaba Dahi Tadka is ready to serve .
