Ingredients to make Puran Poli

  • For Puran
  • chana daal 2 and 1/2 cups
  • turmeric 1 pinch + 1 pinch
  • jaggery 2 and 1/4 cups
  • Cardamon powder 1 tsp
  • nutmeg powder 1 tsp
  • For dough
  • wheat flour 4 cups
  • salt 1 tsp
  • oil 4 Tbsp
  • Turmuric powder 1 pinch
  • ghee

How to make Puran Poli

  1. WASH CHANA DAAL AND SOAK FOR 2 HRS IN WATER.
  2. IN PRESSURE COOKER ADD SOAKED DAAL ,1 PINCH TURMURIC POWDER AND ADD WATER MAKE 4 WHISTLES
  3. IN 4 CUPS WHEAT FLOUR ADD 1 PINCH TURMERIC POWDER ,SALT AND 2 TBSP OIL KNEAD WITH WATER.
  4. AGAIN ADD 1 TSP OIL ,LITTLE WATER KNEAD IT.REAPEAT 4 TO 5 TIMES TILL DOUGH GETS SMOOTH TEXTURE.
  5. REMOVE ALL WATER FROM COOKED CHANA DAAL,IN THICK BOTTOM PAN ADD COOKED CHANA DAAL AND JAGGERY
  6. IF SPATULA STAND ITSELF IN DAAL AND JAGGERY MIXTURE..THEN IT IS READY ADD CARDAMON AND NUTMEG POWDER
  7. PLACE STRAINER ON A ROUND PAN,PRESS DAAL AND JAGGERY MIXTURE ON STRAINER
  8. SMOOTH PURAN IS READY FOR STUFFING.
  9. MAKE ROUND FLAT SHAPE OUT OF DOUGH AND STUFF PURAN INSIDE.DOUGH BALL = PURAN BALL ALMOST EQUAL SIZE
  10. ROLL STUFFED BALL ON KITCHEN TOP USING RICE FLOUR,ROLL THIN ANG BIG.
  11. COOK PURAN ON A MEDIUM HIGH FLAME FOR 1 MINUTES IN BETWEEN TUNING OVER.
  12. DRIZZLE GHEE ON BOTH SIDES.PURAN POLI IS READY.
