A guilt free sweet that is healthy, low fat, sugar free and gluten free.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 500 Gms dates
  2. ½ cup almonds
  3. ½ cup cashew nuts
  4. 1/4 cup pistachios
  5. ½ cup poppy seeds
  6. 1 tablespoon butter or ghee


  1. Soak the dates in hot water for atleast 30 minutes. Drain. Remove the pits and chop the dates . Keep aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 100 degree centigrade. Place the almonds on a baking tray. Toast the almonds till fragrant and browned, about 10 minutes.
  3. Let the almonds cool. The chop the almonds, pistachios and cashewnuts coarsely.
  4. Ina heavy bottom pan add butter and the dates and cook on low for about fifteen minutes. The,dates should be soft and mashable.
  5. Mash with the help of a ladle until the mix is smooth. Turn off the gas .Add nuts and mix well.
  6. Divide this into three portions and make them into long rolls of anout one inch.
  7. Pour the poppy seeds onto a plate. And gently place these rolls to coat with the poppy seeds.
  8. Refrigerate for an hour until the rolls harden. With a sharp knife, cut discs of about of 1mm thickness. Store in an airtight container.
