ABOUT Bazlama RECIPE

Turkish delight...This is a very common and famous Turkish flat bread called Bazlama.The main ingrident used here is GreekYougurt

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Greek yougurt 3/4 cup(you can use normal curd too but prefer thick)
  2. warm water 1 1/4 cup
  3. Active dry yeast 2 tsp
  4. Sugar 1 tbsp
  5. Salt 1 tsp
  6. flour 3 3/4 cups
  7. Fresh basil 1/4 cup
  8. Olive oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. combine the yeast, warm water and sugar
  2. let the yeast Bloom ,will take 10 to 12 minutes
  3. whisk the Greek yoghurt ,olive oil and salt
  4. gradually add the flour and the basil leaves
  5. using a spatula mix the flour and the yougurt mixture along with the yeast
  6. it won't be a managable dough at first
  7. transfer the mixture into a flat plate and start knesding the dough
  8. Knead till the dough becomes soft
  9. transfer that dough into a bowl and let it rise.oil it.
  10. It's rised beautifully
  11. divide the dough into 10 small balls
  12. roll the dough into a small disc and prick some holes
  13. Apply olive oil and spread your desired topping.Here I have used Zatar
  14. take a hot griddle and put the Zatar side down on the griddle and cook for 2 mins.Apply olive oil on the top side as well.You will see bubbles on the top then turn the Bazlama
  15. Now cook the other side just for a min or 2.
  16. Similarly male any variety of Bazlama and enjoy the simple and amazing treat

  20. Even made a Egg Bazlama , simply drop an egg and add salt and pepper , cover and let the egg steam
  21. Serve the Bazlama as it is or with Hummus , Garlic Sauce ,Chicken Sheekh
