About Arbi Fry Recipe

A very tasy twist to Arbi , a potatoes family root veggie which can be relished in many preparations .This is julienne cut arbi fried in zeera and ajwain.

Arbi Fry

Ingredients to make Arbi Fry

  • 250 g Arbi
  • 2 tblspoon riceola (rice oil)
  • 10 gm or 1tspn cummin seeds (zeera)
  • 1tspn Ajwain
  • Salt to taste ,red chilli powder as per taste
  • 1/2 tspn mango powder
  • Corriander to garnish

How to make Arbi Fry

  1. Peel and wash Arbi well.
  2. Cut into juliennes like french fries.
  3. Apply little salt to all and keep aside.
  4. Take a non stick kadai or pan with lid put the 2tblspn Oil and heat.
  5. Add Zeera and Ajwaiin to splutter well.
  6. Sprinkle in rest of the salt, turmeric and stir.
  7. Now wash and strain arbi to remove excess salt, add to kadai and keep stirring.
  8. Now lower stove, add chilli powder and mango powder.
  9. Mix stir well and cover cook till tender the arbi is done not deep fried n gives a fried taste as such
  10. Wash, cut coriander finely and garnish.

My Tip:

Do not leave water in arbi after washing, it can be washed, salted and kept in a collander to release water Fry on low heat.

We can't use rice oil in navratras we can use ghee or groundnut oil only
