Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup equals 150 ml
  2. All purpose flour 1 cup
  3. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  4. Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  5. Baking soda 1 teaspoon
  6. Frozen butter grated 3 tablespoons
  7. Wet ingredients :
  8. Chilled Yogurt 1 cup
  9. Honey 3 tablespoons
  10. Raisins 2 fistful
  11. Large egg 1
  12. Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
  13. Lemon zest grated 1 tablespoon
  14. Melted butter for brushing
  15. Powdered brown sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Take wheat and all purpose flour in a wide bowl .
  2. Add baking soda and baking powder .
  3. Add salt .
  4. Mix all together .
  5. Let’s prepare the wet ingredients .
  6. In a bowl , take cold yogurt , one whisked egg .
  7. Add honey to the yogurt egg mixture .
  8. Add squeezed lemon juice 2 tablespoons
  9. Add the grated lemon zest .
  10. Whisk all once and keep .
  11. Coming to the dry ingredients , add grated frozen butter .
  12. Mix the flour to crumb like consistency .
  13. Add black raisins to the flour .
  14. Now add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
  15. Knead it to a smooth soft dough by dusting extra flour whenever needed .
  16. Spread a baking sheet on a baking tray / plate .
  17. Transfer the dough to the sheet .
  18. Now cut the dough into scones ( diagonals ) .
  19. Brush butter on the dough .
  20. Bake in a preheated cooker for 20 minutes in medium heat till the upper part turns golden .
  21. Preheat the cooker for 10 minutes in low heat .
  22. Once baked , take the baking tray out and allow to cool .
  23. When lukewarm , dust powdered brown sugar on the scones .
  24. Serve scones lukewarm.
