Typically chana dal halwa is prepared using milk, dal, but if you add mangoes to it, it will become totally new dessert!!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Chana dal 2 cup
  2. Mango pulp 1/4 cup
  3. Sugar 1 cup
  4. Milk 2 cup +3/4 cup for soaking dal
  5. Fresh cream 1/2 cup
  6. Green cardamom powder 1 tsp
  7. Ghee 1 cup
  8. Chopped nuts 1/4 cup


  1. Soak chanadal for 2 hours in water, later drain.
  2. Again soak for 1 hour in milk.
  3. In a heavy bottomed pan boil chana dal with same milk till water from milk evoparated.
  4. Let the mixture cool and then grind to a fine paste in a grinder.
  5. Heat ghee in non stick kadai, add chana dal paste .
  6. Roast chana dal paste till aromatic and changes colour.
  7. Add milk and cook till milk reduce and dries all water.
  8. Add sugar, mango puree and fresh cream, cook with continued stirring.
  9. When you see halwa is leaving its sides and sweet aroma comes out from it , then switch off the flame
  10. When done add chopped nuts in it.
  11. Mix well and garnish with chopped nuts and serve.
