Tandoori momos is a street speaciality in North and North East India.These tandoori momos don't need any accompaniment as they are full of flavor and complete snack in itself.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR MOMOS WRAPPING:-
  2. All purpose flour 1Cup
  3. Salt 1/4Tsp
  4. Oil 1Tsp
  5. Water 1/2 Cup
  6. FOR STUFFING:-
  7. Oil 2Tsp
  8. Garlic cloves finely chopped 1Tbsp
  9. Onion finely chopped 1/2 cup
  10. Cabbage grated 2 cup
  11. Carrot grated 1Cup
  12. Black Pepper powder 1tsp
  13. Salt 1/2Tsp
  14. Coriander finely chopped 1Tbsp
  15. FOR TANDOORI MARINATION:-
  16. Thick curd 1/4 cup
  17. Ginger garlic paste 1/2Tsp
  18. Black pepper 1/2Tsp
  19. Red chilli powder 1Tsp
  20. Coriander powder 1/2Tsp
  21. Cumin powder 1/2Tsp
  22. Chaat masala 1/2Tsp
  23. Besan 1Tbsp
  24. Oil 1Tsp
  25. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. FOR OUTER COVERING:-
  2. In a large mixing bowl take  maida,salt and oil. mix well.
  3. Add water and knead dough for 5 minutes
  4. Knead to a smooth and soft dough, and rest for 30 minutes.
  5. FOR STUFFING:-
  6. Heat oil in a pan,add garlic cloves and stir for a while.
  7. Now add onions and saute until it turns translucent.
  8. Add cabbage,carrot,salt and black pepper.Mix well
  9. Cover and cook until soft and done .
  10. Allow to cool completely. momos stuffing is ready.
  11. For assembling:-
  12. After 30 minutes, take the prepared momos dough and knead well again for a minute.
  13. Take a grape-sized piece of dough and roll it out, 3 inches in diameter. 
  14. Take about 2 tsp cooled filling and place into the middle of the dough. 
  15. Use your fingers to pull the dough together and pleat one side to the other, using your fingers to seal.
  16. Repeat this process for all the dumplings
  17. Heat a steamer and arrange the momos in the tray without touching each other.
  18. Steam for about 8-10 minutes or until cooked .
  19. Take them out of the steamer and allow them to cool.
  20. TANDOORI MARINADE:-
  21. In a large bowl take curd.
  22. Add ginger garlic paste,chilli powder, coriander powder,cumin powder,chaat masala,salt ,black pepper powder,Besan and oil.
  23. Mix well making sure all the spices are combined well.
  24. Place the cold momos in prepared marination and rest for 1 hour.
  25. Preheat oven at 200*c for 10 minutes.
  26. Lined the baking tray with parchment paper and keep aside.
  27. Arrange the marinated momos in the baking tray.
  28. Place them in the oven for 10 minutes or until charred in places.
  29. Finally, serve tandoori momos sprinkled with chaat masala and coriander leaves.
