ABOUT Oat cookies RECIPE

These are very flavorful little chewy oat cookies that you can enjoy in your breakfast or tea time snack.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. All purpose flour 1 cup
  2. Rolled oats 1 cup
  3. Soft unsalted butter 1/2 cup
  4. Brown sugar/white sugar 1 cup
  5. Large egg 1
  6. Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  7. Cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Dark cooking chocolate chopped 2 tablespoon
  9. Shredded coconut 2 tablespoon
  10. Honey 1 tablespoon
  11. Vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon


  1. Sieve all purpose flour with baking powder. Keep aside.
  2. In a big mixing bowl add salted butter and sugar. Mix well with a spatula.
  3. Add egg, vanilla essence, honey and shredded coconut . Mix them well.
  4. Add flour and baking powder mixture. Mix well to incorporate.
  5. Now add oats, cinnamon powder and chopped chocolate. Mix everything to make a soft dough.
  6. Keep the dough in the refrigerator for 10 minutes
  7. Set oven in preheated mode at 170 degree Centigrade for 10 minutes.
  8. Take out dough from refrigerator and make lime size balls and place them in a greased baking tray.
  9. Put some gap between the balls as they will spread and double in size while baking.
  10. Place the tray in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes or till edges of the cookies start to brown in color.
  11. Take out from the oven and immediately transfer to a wired rack very carefully. As the cookies will be soft when hot.
  12. Or you can spread a baking sheet when you place the cookie dough in the tray. It will help to transfer the hot cookies.
  13. When cool keep them in a air tight container. They will taste best for 2/ 3 days.
