Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. half cup grated coconut
  2. 4 Red Chillies whole
  3. 1 cup fried gram dal
  4. half cup peanuts
  5. 5 garlic cloves
  6. half inch Ginger
  7. two green chillies
  8. salt to taste
  9. water to make the chutney
  10. for tempering chutney
  11. half teaspoon mustard seeds
  12. 1/4 teaspoon urad dal
  13. few curry leaves
  14. one teaspoon oil


  1. first heat the pan and then add one teaspoon of oil in it
  2. add all the ingredients one by one for the chutney
  3. roast all the ingredients till fried gram dal turns light brown in colour
  4. switch off the gas let it cool. Then grind it into the mixie
  5. take a small pan and heat oil in it
  6. add urad dal, mustard seeds. Let mustard seeds crackle.
  7. Then add curry leaves and switch off the gas
  8. add this tempering to the chutney.
  9. keep the consistency of the chutney little thick.
  10. Serve with dosa, idli, paniyaram or you can eat this chutney simply with ragi or akki roti.
