Spicy carrot masala is added to the dough when kneading.You can enjoy these soft and spicy carrot buns with a cup of hot tea.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. 3 1/2 cup all purpose flour.
  2. 3 tbsp butter.
  3. 1 egg.
  4. 1 1/2 tesp salt.
  5. 1 1/2 tesp yeast.
  6. 2 tesp sugar.
  7. 1/2 cup milk.
  9. 1 medium onion thinly sliced.
  10. 2 tbsp each of chopped mint and cilantro leaves.
  11. 1 tesp ginger garlic paste.
  12. 3 green chilli minced.
  13. 1/4 cup grated carrot.
  14. 2 tesp oil.
  15. Topping.
  16. 1 tbsp butter.
  17. 1 beaten egg for egg wash.


  1. Add oil in a pan and place on medium flame.
  2. Saute ginger garlic paste and minced chilli for few seconds.
  3. Add onions saute till light brown.
  4. To this add carrot ,chopped mint and cilantro.
  5. Saute till the carrots are slightly cooked.
  6. Remove and let cool.
  7. In a bowl add yeast,sugar and milk .Set aside for 5 minutes to activate.
  8. To this add all purpose flour,butter,egg ,salt and the carrot mixture.
  9. Mix and knead to a soft dough.
  10. Make a ball of the dough brush oil, and place on an oiled bowl.
  11. Cover it with a cling wrap.
  12. Wait for it to increase in size.
  13. Punch the dough and divide it to 7 equal pieces.
  14. Make a ball of each piece and place on a lined baking sheet.
  15. Preheat oven 180℃ for 10 minutes.
  16. Bake the buns at 170℃ for 20 minutes.
  17. Remove apply egg wash and place back into the oven.
  18. Increase the temperature and bake in broil mode till it's golden brown.
  19. Remove and brush with butter.
  20. Let cool before serving.
