About puff pastry in karahi... Recipe

The principle is behind the pastry is to creat many layer of the dough & butter by folding & turning two ,together,the crunchy munchy pastry is made in karahi, its very fluffy, & crunchy ..

Ingredients to make puff pastry in karahi...

  • all purpose flour to 220 gram
  • butter 220 grams
  • salt according to your test
  • milk 1 tbsp
  • water for kneading dough
  • For stuffing-
  • Boiled mash potato 1,1/2 cup
  • Green peas boiled 1/2 cup
  • Panch furan 1/4 tsp
  • Grated ginger 1 tsp
  • cumin pwdr 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Whole red chilli 2 nos
  • bay leaf 1no
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • oil 1,1/2 tbsp

How to make puff pastry in karahi...

  1. Make a semi soft dough of maida, 40 gm butter & water
  2. Cover the dough with wet cloth for 15 mins
  3. For stuffing-
  4. Heat oil in karahi & add punch furon ,bay leaf & whole ref chilli,
  5. After crackle add boiled peas & all spices,& fried peanuts
  6. Cook for 2 to 3 mins after that add mash potato & mix it well
  7. & cook few mins then keep aside,sprinkle some coriander leaves,
  8. Now roll the dough like a big chapati,keep rest of the butter slab(chilled) in the centre,
  9. & cover by the all side,like envelop , dust with maida & keep rest in freeze for 20 mins,
  10. After 20 mins remove the dough & again roll in the shape,lengthy sheet & fold twice,
  11. Repeat the process 5 to 6 time, finally freeze for 2 hrs
  12. Take out the dough & roll to quarter inch thick sheet,
  13. Dived the roll into 12 sqaure pieces,
  14. Keep the stuffing on the sheets, cover the stuffing,
  15. Again keep in the freeze for 10 mins,
  16. After 10 mins take out the pastry & brush milk on the top of the pastry ,
  17. Now preheated the karahi for 5 mins, after five mins place the pastry & bake for 45 mins.
  18. Serve hot with sauce or chakti,
  19. Enjoy the crispy tasty puff pastry...

My Tip:

U can use cauliflower also
