Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Puti fish big size or shor puti fish 4
  2. Mustard oil for cooking and frying
  3. Tomato chopped 1 small to medium
  4. Salt and termaric powder as required
  5. Green cilli slits 2
  6. Finely chopped onions 2 table spoon
  7. Kashmeri red cilli powder 1/2 teaspoon (optional only for colour)
  8. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  9. Mashala mix paste: 1 teaspoon cumin seeds + 1/2 " ginger + 1 teaspoon mustard seeds +1 Green cilli
  10. sugar 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take cleaned and descaled fishes and rince thoroughly. Rub with salt and termaric powder
  2. Heat a kadai first then heat oil in it and fry the fishes. Remove from oil and keep aside. (You can shallow fry or deep fry the fish as per your choice. )
  3. Now keep aside the extra oil and take about 2 table spoon of it for cooking.
  4. Heat 2 table spoon oil add nigella seeds and fry for a while. Add chopped onion and sugar and fry until golden brown in colour.
  5. Add mix mashala paste and fry until raw smell disappeared
  6. Add chopped tomatoes, cilli powder, coriander powder,salt and termaric powder mix well let it fry for a minute
  7. Add a cup of water and mix let it cook for 2 minutes then add fishes and cover it with a lid.
  8. Let it cook for 7-8 minutes
  9. Remove the cover and add cilli slits and spread 1 table spoon of raw mustard oil and cover again.
  10. Switch off the flame and let it stand for few minutes.
  11. Serve hot with Steamed rice
